I would like to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to Ginger, who time and again has given the best care to my cats. They are rescue cats, healed by time and love but still requiring much care and patience—which Ginger, a true animal lover, has given in great quantities. Ginger is the first pet-sitter I have known who sets my cats at ease. Before, I had to board the "difficult" ones. Now they all get to stay at home. Upon my return, my cats are not only relaxed but happy. They tell me in their own way that someone came to care for them that belonged there and felt at ease among them as she fed them and talked to them. It's as though I never left. Ginger has an uncanny ability to sense when something is not quite right. One cat suffered from a urinary infecton which caused a life-threatening blockage. She hid her distress, but Ginger knew something was wrong and took immediate action. Gladys would not have lived through the night if Ginger had not brought her in to the vet. Another time she noticed when a cat was not eating as well as she should, which proved to be an intolerance to a medication. Ginger always knows when a cat is not feeling well, whether in body or spirit, and she always makes things right again. Ginger is unfailing in her efforts to care for my cats. She administers medicine to even the toughest cat like an ER nurse, brushes them, plays with them, comforts them and loves them. She even takes care of me, makes me laugh, respects my home, makes it clear that I can count on her when I have to go out of town yet again. Beyond her warmth and consideration is a rock-solid dependability and sense of responsibility. I do not know what I would do without her. Ginger and August Animal Care are a treasure! Barbara K. |

"Ginger has been stopping by while we are at work off and on now for nearly a year and I could not be happier. She is always responsive to our changing schedule and needs and gives us the peace of mind we need to do our jobs and know the dogs have not been waiting in the house all day. We have 4 dogs that vary from 2 year olds full of energy to a 13 year old who needs assistance just getting up and down stairs. Ginger was like a Godsend to us. We have 23 animals on our not-large-enough farm in Woodinville. When Ralph was deployed to Kuwait for a year and Laura was working fulltime in downtown Seattle, Ginger started helping us by walking the dogs each weekday, mucking out the barn and conducting a general wellness check on all the residents. Then Laura left too to work in Boston and Ginger stepped up to provide additional support including pinch hitting for the overnight pet sitter when needed and taking charge of all the equine veterinary needs at the barn. Ginger is a horse woman and has done an excellent job of coordinating treatment for our horses while we have been away. She is fastidious about keeping the barn tidy, the water buckets scrubbed out, and the stalls locked down and safe. She has administered both oral and intramuscular medications to the horses and even cooked up her own batch of horse cookies. Ginger is not intimidated by our big draft horses or the miniature donkeys. She can even hold her own with the roosters.
Ginger is extremely reliable. She has gotten sick cats to vet specialists (who donÕt give you a lot of choices for appointment times) and knows rather a lot about dog behavior. We have a very high energy, high maintenance dog that Ginger has handled well. She has even conducted behavioral research and forwarded advice to us about new methods/techniques to try. We had 2 dogs fighting for awhile and I never worried when they were with Ginger. She would walk them both at the same time, but always had one firmly in hand before taking the other. She let them know who was in charge. Ginger is experienced, knowledgeable, calm, resourceful, conscientious, dependable and on top of everything else Š likable. She has a special sense with animals and is good at telling when something is not quite right with one of them. Her perceptive ability, common sense and experience as a mother and animal owner herself make her ideally suited to look after our beloved animal companions. Laura Scott |

Ginger took care of our 2 dogs and cat for a 7 day period and she was great!
Both of the dogs are high maintenance Border Collies and one is a rescue dog with people issues. Ginger took the time to come over before our trip and get Zach (Mr. Issue) more relaxed as well as me I think so my anxiety level about leaving them was much lower. I have not really traveled without my dogs until this trip and after my experience I will be using Ginger every year! I would be happy to speak with someone over the phone or e-m if they want to.
